Kitty explores the freedom and rare beauty of summer days on “Rent A Smile”

With the promise of warmer days ahead, Kitty, the London-based songwriter, delivers a buoyant summer anthem in her latest single, “Rent a Smile.” The track radiates with joyous energy, capturing the essence of carefree moments under the sun. Starting with a simple chord progression, the artists ethereal vocals build into an infectious chorus, mirroring the fleeting beauty of summer days.

In “Rent a Smile,” Kitty skillfully encapsulates the universal happiness that accompanies the arrival of sunshine, particularly amidst England’s gloomy weather. Despite subtle undertones hinting at the transience of this happiness, Kitty encourages listeners to revel in the moment. Co-written with friends Macie Nyah and Emily Harbord, and produced by Jules Konieczny, the track embodies the essence of a sun-kissed picnic with friends, late nights watching sunsets, and the rejuvenation felt after a day basking in the sun.

A graduate of the prestigious BRIT School, Kitty has mastered the art of storytelling, finding enchantment in the everyday. Kitty continues to captivate audiences with her introspective lyricism and infectious melodies.

Speaking on the new single, Kitty explains that

‘Rent a Smile’ is about that universal feeling of happiness when the sun comes out, especially with the gloomy English weather. There is a hint of a darker undertone to the song, alluding to the fact that the happiness might only be temporary, but to enjoy it while it’s here! I wrote it with my good friends Macie Nyah and Emily Harbord, and Jules Konieczny produced this third single from my EP. This song feels like a picnic with friends, staying out late to watch the sunset, getting burned, and feeling complete again after a day in the sun.”
