Singer/songwriter Dorin has just shared her debut single. Called “Lonely Heart” the song is the first off of her forthcoming EP out later this month. Dorin is known for her captivating cover songs that have catapulted her to success attracting a fervent fan base who have streamed her music over 35M times on TikTok alone. “Lonely Heart” marks her first foray into original songwriting and it is a strong debut from this rising artist.
With “Lonely Heart” Dorin pens a moving and emotive post breakup anthem all about regaining your power after heartbreak. The song further is a highly relatable and poignant account of the feelings that oscillate between holding on and letting go, which often accompany the end of a relationship. Lyrics including, “All those times I took flights inside my head away from you / you made me feel like I’m about to fall apart because of you / I wonder why I’m loving you / pieces of me are still calling your name,” show the intense feelings of despair her former love made her feel and how she understands she needs to move on. Musically, “Lonely Heart” enthralls with Dorin’s soul-baring vocals that sing lush and warm melodies. A kaleidoscope of sounds complete the musical envelopment including downtempo tropical rhythms and breezy acoustic guitars, that lull the listern in with every note.
